Peter Stefanidis - Alternate President

Alternate President: Not to be confused with the Vice President's role, the Alternate President acts as the President's representative in the Australian state of Victoria (providing the President is not a Victorian resident). Due to the very large Hellenic community in Victoria as well as the Head Office of the Federation being located in Victoria, the Alternate President acts as an ambassador for the President ensuring that the Federation has a presence amongst the very large Hellenic Community within Victoria.

Peter Stefanidis

Peter Stefanidis was elected as Alternate President  on 18 October 2009. Peter Stefanidis served as Secretary and Youth Representative for the Federation between 2005 and 2007. He is currently Secretary of the Central Pontian Association of Melbourne and Victoria "Pontiki Estia" as well as the Pontian Professionals and Business Forum. Peter also served as dance teacher for a Pontian organisation for over 4 years but is known within the Australian community for his work in producing and directing the short film Pontos. Peter's passion for the Pontian cause as well as his extensive knowledge and experience of the Federation made him a prime candidate for the position. Like the President, John Efkarpidis, Peter's father Vassilios Stefanidis also served on the Federation's first committee when formed back in 1989 as treasurer.
