Harry Tavlaridis - Immediate Past President
Immediate Past President: A newly created position allowing the previous President of the Federation stay on to utilise his experience and advise the new President on any issue the current President needs assistance with.
Harry Tavlaridis became President of the Federation 22 September 2007. His 2 year term ended on 18 October 2009 and was given the recently created position of Immediate Past President. Harry Tavlaridis became President of the Federation with very little community experience. With a 13 year distinguished military career in the Royal Australian Airforce and senior project manager at an international corporation, Harry Tavlaridis new perspective lead to the recognition of the Genocide of the Pontian and Anatolian Greeks as well as the Armenian and Assyrian people. What was once thought impossible was proven otherwise by a very determined and successful President. His new role was considered essential for the Federation to continue with its success. His focus is on pushing young people to take on leadership within the Pontian community.
