John Theophilos Efkarpidis - President
President: Apart from chairing meetings, the Federation President acts as the national and international ambassador for all Pontian Associations throughout Australia. The role also involves bringing a positive vision for all to follow in promoting and safe guarding our culture here in Australia as well as being the voice for all Pontians when speaking to Government.
John Efkarpidis became President of the Federation of Pontian Associations of Australia on 18 October 2009. John takes the helm as his father once did when elected the first Federation President in 1989, over 20 years ago. Born in Australia, President of the Canberra Pontian Club and Vice President of the very successful Hellenic Club of Canberra, John Efkarpidis' appointment is considered a further step in the right direction in guiding the 2nd generation of Pontian Hellenes in defining their role in Australia.
